Power Engineer - 3rd Class

What you’ll do

  • Operate and maintain high pressure boilers.
  • Operate powerhouse auxiliary equipment.
  • Comply with the Provincial Power Engineers Act and Regulations.
  • Troubleshoot maintenance issues and plans repairs related to the steam process.
  • Operate in accordance with health, safety and fire prevention regulations and practices.
  • Maintain logs for pressure vessels and equipment, fire suppression pressure, water treatment test results and the boiler room operations.
  • Perform water treatment testing and adjusts chemical treatment as necessary.
  • Monitor fire suppression system.
  • Perform electrical duties as required, adhering to provincial Electrical Act and Regulations

What you bring to our team

  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in high pressure power engineering operations.
  • Minimum Third-Class Power Engineering certificate is required.
  • Welding, fabricating and pipe fitting experience would be an asset.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical ability to troubleshoot equipment, manage adjustments and plan repairs.
  • Must be willing to work modified shifts on evenings and weekends.
  • Required to work shift work 24/7
