Overview

$1.50/hr. shift differential for 2nd or 3rd shift

($19.89-$22.17/hr.)

Responsibilities

The Powder Coat Technician is responsible for:

  • Cleaning and maintaining all equipment in the Environmental Room and throughout the powder coat monorail system.
  • Filling paint canisters.
  • Overseeing the powder coat sprayers in the paint booth.
  • Notifying Maintenance of any equipment issues.
  • Maintaining powder inventory and reporting usage daily.
  • Monitoring spare parts inventory for spraying equipment.
  • Performing various other duties as required.

PPE and Certifications required:

  • Safety Glasses, Steel Toe Boots
  • Hearing Protection (All areas of powder coat)
  • Bump Cap (when crossing under monorail)
  • Tyvek Suit and Respirator (when filling/emptying paint canisters)
  • Operation of Forklift (Completion of training course)
  • Powder Coat Sprayer (Completion of an online medical questionnaire)
Qualifications

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or GED; or three years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Basic understanding of powder coating systems.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings to customers, clients, and colleagues.

Math Ability:

Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and interpret data through graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to understand and carry out instructions, and solve problems involving concrete variables.

Computer Skills:

Ability to accurately input critical data into a computer.

Certificates and Licenses:

No certifications required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

Exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibration; loud noise levels. Reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.

Physical Demands:

Must occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds. Regularly stand, use hands, reach, talk, hear; frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl; occasionally walk and climb. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, and peripheral vision.
