Job summary

ePac Flexible Packaging is a rapidly growing manufacturer with locations in the US, Canada, Europe, and Indonesia. The Pouch Assistant supports the Pouch Operator in setting up and running pouch machines, performing a variety of manual and mechanical tasks to ensure quality and efficiency on the production floor.

You will work at multiple stations, monitor pouch quality, handle packaging, and maintain safety and housekeeping standards while contributing to continuous improvement efforts within

Qualifications

• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Flexible in work schedule & shifts.

Responsibilities

• Package finished product at one of several workstations as assigned.
• Change rolls and cut out splices.
• Check pouch quality continually during production run.
• Maintain Quality control check sheet, data entry, effective run rate, production and waste reports.
• Make packing cartons and carton labels as required by the Work Order.
• Follow all instructions on work order and S.O.P. and the established material handling procedure.
• Assist Pouch Operator with Pouch Machine set up and run.
• Inform Pouch Operator of any defective material, maintenance issues and safety issues.
• Stage proper equipment and secondary packaging (boxes, pallets, labels, etc) necessary for production jobs based on production schedule.
• Clean and maintain equipment in preparation for next production run.
• Trash and trim removal and production site clean up.
• Recommend improvement of production in terms of efficiency and workflow.
• Observe & follow safety / quality / SQF regulatations.
• Support other parts of the operations including press assistant, slitting, and lamination as and when required
• Other duties as assigned by management and supervisors.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Pouch Assistant works with the Pouch Operator to convert high quality pouches for ePac and will perform various manual and mechanical duties to provide assistance in the set up and operation of our pouch machines.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is around, moving mechanical parts and vibration
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
