ePac Flexible Packaging is hiring for a Pouch Assistant to work alongside the Pouch Operator in our Mississauga production facility. The role involves assisting with pouch machine setup, changing rolls, quality checks, data entry, and packing.

You will help maintain workflow, safety, and quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. The position emphasizes teamwork, adherence to SOPs, and continuous improvement in efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prefer manufacturing experience and flexibility with shifts.
• Must understand and follow verbal and written directions.

Responsibilities

• Package finished product at workstation and support operators.
• Change rolls and cut out splices as needed.
• Monitor pouch quality during production runs.
• Enter data and prepare production and waste reports.
• Assemble cartons and apply labels per work orders.
• Assist with pouch machine setup and run.
• Identify defective material or safety issues and report.
• Stage equipment and packaging materials for production.
• Maintain clean and safe work environment.
• Support other production roles as required.

Job description

ePac Flexible Packaging is a rapidly growing, digital printing company with locations across the United States, Canada, Europe, and Indonesia. ePac's mission is to provide locally-based consumer packaged goods companies the ability to compete with large brands with great packaging.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Pouch Assistant works with the Pouch Operator to convert high quality pouches for ePac and will perform various manual and mechanical duties to provide assistance in the set up and operation of our pouch machines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Package finished product at one of several workstations as assigned
• Change rolls and cut out splices
• Check pouch quality continually during production run
• Maintain Quality control check sheet, data entry, effective run rate, production and waste reports
• Make packing cartons and carton labels as required by the Work Order.
• Follow all instructions on work order and S.O.P. and the established material handling procedure
• Assist Pouch Operator with Pouch Machine set up and run
• Inform Pouch Operator of any defective material, maintenance issues and safety issues
• Stage proper equipment and secondary packaging (boxes, pallets, labels, etc) necessary for production jobs based on production schedule
• Clean and maintain equipment in preparation for next production run
• Trash and trim removal and production site clean up
• Recommend improvement of production in terms of efficiency and workflow
• Observe & follow safety / quality / SQF regulatations .
• Support other parts of the operations including press assistant, slitting, and lamination as and when required
• Other duties as assigned by management and supervisors.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

• Experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is around, moving mechanical parts and vibration
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
