Job summary

The Simplot Company in Portage la Prairie, Canada, seeks an experienced Raw Procurement Manager to oversee the acquisition and storage of potato raw material, ensuring quality and cost targets are met to satisfy customer requirements.

You will manage grower relations, contracting, budgeting, and the coordination of raw scheduling with production, while leading staff and optimizing storage and throughput across multiple facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from a 4 year college or university.
• 3+ years related experience and/or training.
• Potato processing/purchasing knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage acquisition and storage of raw potato product to meet quality and cost goals.
• Contracting, growing, harvesting, and storage of raw product for the plant(s).
• Negotiate contracts and other services such as freight and grading.
• Coordinate raw scheduling with production based on quality and quantity.
• Direct field reps in sampling and storages; test results guide blends and plans.
• Develop and monitor departmental budget; review expenditures and adjust plans.
• Lead staff; develop subordinates and oversee performance management.
