Job summary

Wonderbrands Inc. is seeking a skilled Millwright to install, troubleshoot and maintain production equipment across bakery operations.

You will read blueprints, troubleshoot systems, and perform preventive maintenance across power transmission, pneumatics, hydraulics, and PLCs. The role requires a Red Seal Millwright license (433A), 5+ years of industrial mechanical experience, strong problem solving and teamwork, and the ability to work flexible shifts including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Valid Red Seal Millwright license (433A) is required.
• Minimum 5 years of industrial mechanical experience, preferably in food manufacturing.
• Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics; strong problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and ability to work in a team.
• Willingness to work flexible shift including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
• Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls.
• Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions.
• Adjust machinery and replace defective parts.
• Operate lathes and milling machines to fabricate parts for overhaul and maintenance.
• Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand tools, power tools and welding equipment.
• Troubleshoot/repair/install processing equipment with electrical knowledge for efficient repairs.
• Maintain extensive mechanical knowledge including power transmission, pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Improve equipment safety, efficiency and reliability; participate in PM schedules and continuous improvement projects.
• Comply with safety, health and environmental policies and procedures.

In a typical day you will:

• Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
• Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls

• Operate machine tools such as lathes and mill machines to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery
• Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.
• Troubleshooting/repairs/installations of processing equipment with a working knowledge of electrical to allow efficient repair/replacement results
• Extensive mechanical knowledge including power transmission, pneumatics and hydraulics
• Optimize equipment safety, efficiency and reliability, participating in continuous improvement projects and completing work orders according to PM schedules
• Comply with all applicable legislative and Bakery food safety, health and safety and environmental policies and procedures.
• Service, clean and perform preventative maintenance and overhaul on all production and bakery equipment
• Continually improve equipment function via design improvements
• Ensure that work area is clean of debris and hazards at all times and check work area for such hazards upon arrival and when departing each area of work
• Work in a safe manner in accordance with legislated and company health and safety standards
• Perform other related duties as assigned or required.

Skills & Other Requirements:

• Valid Red Seal Millwright License - Industrial Millwright 433A
• 5+ years of industrial mechanical experience, preferably in the food industry.
• Proven track record working with mechanics, machine shop practices, pneumatic & hydraulic fields is required.
• Problem solving skills and good communication skills are required.
• Comfortable using computers
• Ability to work well within a team and independently
• Comfortable with occasional heavy lifting up to 50 lbs
• You really enjoy working in a fast paced environment where every day can bring new and unique challenges
• Ability to work a flexible shift day/afternoon/night, Sunday to Saturday, and holidays.
