About the OpportunityOn behalf of a cutting-edge quantum research institute in Ontario, Canada, we are seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher with hands-on experience in vapor cell fabrication, thin film sputtering, and wafer-level processing and cleaning. This position is an exciting opportunity to work at the interface of quantum science and real-world device engineering.You will join a collaborative, application-focused R&D team developing next-generation quantum technologies with real commercial potential. The lab is known for translating fundamental research into scalable, manufacturable systems bridging the gap between scientific theory and impactful innovation.Key Focus AreasVapor Cell Design & Fabrication : Expertise in atomic vapor cells (e.g. rubidium or cesium based), microfabrication, bonding, and encapsulation techniques.Thin Film Sputtering : Experience with dielectric and metallic thin film deposition for optical or quantum device applications.Wafer Cleaning & Surface Science : Familiarity with semiconductor cleaning processes, contamination control, and surface preparation for MEMS and photonics integration.Core ResponsibilitiesDesign and execute experiments in vapor cell and MEMS fabricationDevelop repeatable, scalable fabrication processes at wafer scaleCollaborate with scientists, engineers, and metrology experts across disciplinesContribute to device development from prototyping to early-stage integrationPresent results internally and externally through reports, papers, and conferencesRequired QualificationsPhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related fieldProven experience in vapor cell fabrication, sputtering, or wafer processingStrong background in cleanroom and microfabrication environmentsExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skillsDesire to work on application-driven, interdisciplinary researchFollowing your application Chris Green, a specialist recruiter will discuss the opportunity with you in detail.
