University of Toronto invites applications for a postdoctoral position in quantum algorithms and simulations. The successful candidate will work in the group of Professor Dvira Segal, affiliated with either the Chemistry or Physics department, focusing on open quantum systems and quantum simulations on both classical and quantum devices.

Postdoctoral Position in Quantum Algorithms and Simulations

Open postdoctoral position in the research group of Professor Dvira Segal at the University of Toronto.

• Developing algorithms for open quantum systems, including benchmarking and testing.
• Quantum simulations of many-body systems: Developing and conducting simulations on classical and quantum devices.
• Assessing physical resource costs in quantum hardware and algorithms; exploring fundamental thermodynamical costs associated with information processing

The position can be affiliated with either the Department of Chemistry or the Department of Physics at the University of Toronto.

Experience

• Candidates with a strong background in open quantum systems/quantum many body physics/quantum simulations/ quantum algorithms are invited to apply.
• A PhD in quantum physics/ theoretical chemistry/applied math or other relevant field obtained within the last five years is required.

Salary

85 K CAD/year + benefits. Funding is available for a 2-year project.
