The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Department / Research Program: Surgical and Interventional Sciences. The Postdoctoral Fellow will participate in fundamental and translational research focused on fibrosis, tissue repair, or oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). Research projects aim to elucidate the molecular and cellular mechanisms governing disease initiation, progression, and resolution, while identifying and validating novel targets. The laboratory employs molecular and cellular biology approaches, in vitro and in vivo preclinical models. Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, the successful candidate will lead independent research projects and contribute to experimental design, data analysis, manuscript preparation, grant applications, and trainee mentorship.

Education / Experience
Education: Doctorate Degree
Field of Study: PhD in Biomedical Sciences, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Experimental Medicine, Pathology, Pharmacology, Immunology, Cancer Biology, Biochemistry, or a related life sciences discipline.
Other education considered an asset for this position: Postdoctoral or graduate-level training in molecular and cellular biology, cancer biology, fibrosis research, bioinformatics, animal models, advanced imaging, or translational biomedical research will be considered an asset.
Work Experience: Experience conducting independent research in molecular and cellular biology, fibrosis, tissue repair, cancer biology, or a related field. Experience with transgenic mouse models, including Cre-LoxP and inducible CreERT2 systems, mouse breeding, colony management, genotyping, and animal handling is an asset. Experience with experimental design, data analysis, scientific writing, and publication of peer-reviewed manuscripts is essential. Experience mentoring trainees and contributing to grant applications is an asset.
Status: Temporary, full time
Compensation Level: Based on annual stipend
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm

A Postdoctoral fellow is a full-time student currently enrolled in a Canadian University program. The individual must have recently been awarded (within 5 years) a PhD or equivalent. The Postdoctoral fellow will receive a stipend or a bursary from a professor’s grant for research activities that will be performed on a full-time basis. All benefits are administered by the University under which they are registered.
