Position Overview

This position is part of the Post Doctoral Fellows Association with an initial appointment of one year and a comprehensive benefits package. The role is in-person at North Campus, Edmonton.

About the Department

The Department of Psychology hosts 31 faculty members, including 3 Canada Research Chairs, with research themes spanning developmental science, neuroscience, cognition, social and cultural psychology, among others.

Research Focus

The PEERS Lab, led by Dr. Wendy Hoglund, seeks a full-time Postdoctoral Fellow interested in child self-regulation, mental health, and relationships with teachers and peers. The role involves leading research projects, grant writing, knowledge mobilization, mentorship, and teaching opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Manage longitudinal projects with children, including data collection and analysis.
  • Lead knowledge mobilization activities such as publications and presentations.
  • Train and co-supervise graduate and undergraduate students.
  • Work with existing longitudinal datasets; potential teaching opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • PhD in Developmental Psychology or related field.
  • Experience with child self-regulation, mental health, and longitudinal research.
  • Strong quantitative skills, especially in SEM and multilevel modeling.
  • Evidence of independent scholarship and excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in project management and team collaboration.
  • Experience with longitudinal measurement designs and publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
