Job Summary & Key Responsibilities

The growing aging population has made frailty a significant challenge for both public health and healthcare systems. In this context, the increasing prevalence of cardiovascular disease ( CVD ) among frail individuals poses significant challenges, impacting adverse health outcomes. Understanding the complex relationship between frailty and cardiovascular health is essential to inform population and healthcare interventions that enhance quality of life and alleviate healthcare demands. Dr. Scott Kehler’s research program focuses on exploring frailty trajectories and clustering, their determinants, in relation to the burden of CVD . This line of inquiry includes leveraging population health data and advanced methodologies to better understand frailty and aging in relation to CVD . Dr. Kehler seeks a Postdoctoral Fellow ( PDF ) with expertise in secondary analyses of population health data and analyses to contribute to this research. The PDF will work within a dynamic and interdisciplinary team, collaborating with experts in frailty, aging, cardiovascular rehabilitation, and biostatistics. The role will emphasize innovative approaches to frailty assessment and understanding its influence on cardiovascular outcomes.

  • Developing and conducting secondary analyses of population health datasets to investigate frailty and its association with CVD .
  • Using advanced methodology for frailty measurement (e.g., growth mixture models, cluster analyses)
  • Preparing high-quality manuscripts and presentations for peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
  • Supporting graduate students and research staff with methodological and analytical guidance.
  • Engaging with stakeholders and collaborators to integrate findings into clinical practice and public health
  • Assisting with project management tasks, such as reporting and coordinating meetings.
