Ellison Institute of Technology seeks ambitious Postdoctoral Researchers for the Pellock Lab in Oxford. You will design and characterize enzymes, analyze genomics data, and develop new biotechnologies with an emphasis on practical applications.

The role requires a PhD in a relevant field, strong publication record, and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Fixed-term contract with opportunities for translational impact and IP generation.

Formación

• PhD in synthetic biology, computational biology, or related fields.
• Track record delivering ambitious research projects to high standard.
• Strong background in molecular/synthetic biology and related areas.
• Experience with data analysis, genomic analysis, automation, or computational tools desirable.
• Ability to work independently, think creatively, and solve complex problems.
• Experience publishing in high-impact journals and presenting internationally.
• Excellent organisational and multitasking skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication with multidisciplinary collaboration.

Responsabilidades

• Design, execute, and troubleshoot experiments in Pellock Lab.
• Analyse complex datasets using computational and statistical tools.
• Contribute to research direction with innovative ideas.
• Prepare and publish high-quality papers, reports, and protocols.
• Present research at conferences and internal meetings.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams within GBI, EIT, and external partners.
• Maintain and develop research infrastructure and technologies.
• Mentor junior researchers including PhD students and RAs.
• Translate findings into translational opportunities aligned with EIT’s mission.
• Identify opportunities for IP generation and protection.
• Ensure compliance with policies and best scientific practice.
