Job Overview

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic, and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Post Production Specialist.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Brand Management, this position is responsible for enhancing, editing, and producing visual content for various media platforms, ensuring high quality and adherence to brand standards. They will be responsible for utilizing design and editing software, and storytelling techniques to effectively communicate key messages and ideas to help achieve business goals and objectives.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Edit and enhance visual content, using graphics, animations, visual effects, and audio tracks to meet project requirements and specifications.
  2. Collaborate with internal and external studio designers, videographers, photographers, illustrators, and production teams to understand project goals and creative vision, brainstorm ideas, share knowledge, and provide feedback on creative projects.
  3. Review raw footage, make selections, trim, and piece together in an engaging and coherent narrative flow.
  4. Enhance the visual appearance of footage through color correction and grading to maintain consistency and achieve the desired mood or atmosphere.
  5. Create and composite motion graphics, titles, lower thirds, transitions, and other visual elements to enhance video content.
  6. Edit and mix audio tracks, including dialogue, music, and sound effects to achieve a balanced and professional sound mix.
  7. Ensure consistency and quality across all products, while adhering to brand guidelines and standards; optimize graphics and animations for various delivery platforms, including web, mobile, social media, and broadcast.
  8. Organize media files and project assets to ensure efficient workflow and easy retrieval of materials.

Qualifications

  1. High school plus 2 years of study in film production, animation, graphic design, or related field.
  2. 4+ years of experience as graphics editor, visual effects artist, or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing post-production work.
  3. Proficient in industry-standard design and editing software such as Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator.
  4. Experience with 3D animation software and compositing tools is a plus.
  5. Understanding of design and animation principles, motion graphics, and visual effects techniques.
  6. Knowledge of video compression and output techniques and delivery formats for various platforms.

This position is moving to OPG Corporate Headquarters: In Summer 2025, OPG will officially welcome employees to our new Corporate Headquarters located at 1908 Colonel Sam Drive, Oshawa, Ontario. This position will be temporarily based in Toronto, ON until the move to Headquarters in the Summer of 2025.
