Post-Doctoral Fellow in Superconducting Devices for Hot Quantum Measurements

Opportunity Details

The research group of Associate Professor Jarryd Pla has an opening for a Post-Doctoral Fellow. You will conduct simulations, design, and experimental work on superconducting quantum devices to perform quantum-noise-limited measurements at temperatures above 1.5 Kelvin. This position aims to develop new devices and techniques for signal detection from microwave quantum technologies, such as quantum computers, at higher temperatures, making their refrigeration more affordable.

Position Information
  • Location: Kensington – Sydney, Australia
  • Salary: Level A - $110,059 to $117,718 per annum + 17% superannuation
  • Type: Full-time, Fixed-term contract – ASAP start until March 2028
  • Reporting to: Associate Professor Jarryd Pla

Required Skills & Experience
  • PhD in Physics, Quantum Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field

  • Experience with microwave measurements and device characterization
  • Knowledge of dilution refrigerators and variable temperature systems
