The Faculty of Business and IT at Ontario Tech University is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow (PDF) to join the research team at the Research Excellence Chair in Marketing Analytics and Decision Models. The successful candidate will work independently under supervision and will have the opportunity to analyze large datasets in marketing. The position is offered for one year with a salary of $50,000, with the possibility of renewal.

Responsibilities :

  1. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary research team to develop hypotheses, design data collection strategies, and interpret results.
  2. Conduct machine learning and statistical analyses of large marketing datasets, including social media data, to analyze and predict customer reviews and engagement.
  3. Coordinate research meetings and mentor graduate students.
  4. Engage in knowledge translation activities.
  5. Write academic papers and present at peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
  6. Assist in preparing and submitting grant proposals.

Required Education :

  • Degree in Business Analytics, Operations Research, Management Science, Computer Science, or a related quantitatively-focused field.

Required Experience :

  • Strong research background in Data Analytics or related fields.
  • Familiarity with advertising research.
  • Proficiency in Machine Learning techniques.
  • Experience with programming languages, preferably Python.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively on complex issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Experience in manuscript preparation, publications, and grant applications.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, responsible, and team-oriented with good interpersonal skills.
