A leading investment firm in Ottawa is seeking a Portfolio Management Assistant/Associate to support Investment Counsellors with portfolio management, maintain knowledge on investment solutions, and draft Investment Policy Statements. Job Description
What is the opportunity?
As a Portfolio Management Assistant /Associate with RBC Phillips, Hager & North Investment Counsel Inc., you will be responsible for working with Investment Counsellors on portfolio management work as well as for maintaining up-to-date knowledge on investment solutions as well as tax and financial planning issues. You will draft Investment Policy Statements as well as some client correspondence. A key element is also the preparation of investment review presentations.
What will you do?
Assist with the modelling, monitoring, and rebalancing of portfolios as well as inputting trades when required
Maintain all administrative functions such as database management, mass mailings, preparation of presentation/meeting materials, correspondence, managing reports, spreadsheets, and completion of special projects
Proactively identify client annual reviews and compile manager review schedules
Ensure compliance to client mandate and portfolio models
Track and manage cash holdings and balances
Provide training/mentorship to new employees as required and back-up to other positions as needed
Respond to various client inquiries
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
University degree in related field
Canadian Securities Course (CSC)
CFA Program candidate administered by the CFA Institute
Highly service-oriented with good attention to detail and the ability to work well in a team environment
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
