We are looking for a Portfolio Management Analyst, Portfolio Construction to join our fast-paced and entrepreneurial Quantitative Equity Team!

CC&LIM’s Global Quantitative Equities team (“Q Team”)

CC&LIM’s Quantitative Equities team has been managing quantitative equity portfolios for over two decades. The team’s strong growth and investment performance across their strategies can be attributed to several factors, including a culture of embracing curiosity, creativity, technology, innovation, growth, and recognizing the value of collaboration and diverse thought.

The Q team’s investment philosophy centers around creating unique and innovative insights in the marketplace over both the near and long-term; all their insights are developed in-house and the majority are uncorrelated to traditional quantitative style factors. The team prioritizes alpha generation over asset acquisition.

Portfolio Management Analyst, Portfolio Construction

Portfolio Management for CC&LIM’s Q portfolios consists of two underlying functions: 1) Portfolio Construction – the construction of optimal portfolios and desired trades for those portfolios, and 2) Market Implementation – the implementation of those desired portfolios in the global markets in which they trade.

The successful candidate will be responsible for making contributions within the Portfolio Construction team with a focus on portfolio construction and portfolio rebalancing. They will possess an understanding of the key drivers of portfolio management, including portfolio construction, financial theory, economic models, and corporate financial statements.

What You Will Do

  • Portfolio Management: Managing the systematic daily execution of portfolio management, including portfolio rebalancing (equities and FX), portfolio transitions, and cashflow management.
  • Data Analysis: Conduct in-depth data analysis to support portfolio management decisions, performance evaluation, and client understanding.
  • Model Implementation: Assist in implementing and maintaining quantitative models used in portfolio construction.
  • Risk Management: Monitor portfolio risk and ensure compliance with investment guidelines.
  • Investment Workflow Improvements: Identify, propose, and collaborate on enhancements to existing processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness of our portfolio management capabilities.
  • Cross Team Support: Collaborate with portfolio managers, traders, data analysts, and other team members to ensure seamless integration of research and trading activities.

What You Bring

  • Approximately 3 to 6 years of experience in portfolio management, quantitative finance, equity investment analysis, data science, or a related field.
  • Systematic mindset – passionate about bringing systematization and a disciplined structure together with investment intuition. You think critically and creatively with a balance of intuition and statistical validation.
  • Demonstrated learner – you love to learn new things and will have the ability to develop a strong understanding of the Q Team’s quantitative investment models and systematic investment process.
  • Creativity / Innovation – you have demonstrated an ability to contribute new ideas and challenge the status quo.
  • Cultural contributor – you embrace a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, friendliness, and openness. Builds strong relationships internally and nurtures external relationships with partners, valuing shared success and possessing an ownership mindset.
  • Strong communication skills – you excel at communicating complex and technical concepts.
  • Academic Qualifications – degree in hard sciences, mathematics, finance, statistics, or related field; CFA preferred.
