Portfolio Director, Water Infrastructure

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Portfolio Director to lead our water infrastructure portfolio across Ontario. Reporting to the Vice President, Places, and working in close collaboration with stakeholder groups within the organization, this position is responsible for driving market strategy, overseeing a diverse range of water infrastructure projects, and ensuring the highest standards of project delivery and client satisfaction.

Location – Toronto, ON

Your Role Within the Team:

Growth & Sales

  • Maintain a highly visible presence with key clients and stakeholders within the Ontario water infrastructure portfolio, leveraging past project experience and industry relationships.
  • Driven to participate in the development and execution of strategic market approaches to drive year-on-year growth in both volume and profitability.
  • Provide direction on bid strategy and preparation, including go/no-go decisions, and service offering validation leveraging capabilities across the global organization.
  • Oversee master service agreements and provide oversight of project delivery performance associated with the portfolio of projects.

Business Delivery & Operational Excellence

  • Oversee the management of a portfolio of engineering projects, ensuring alignment client satisfaction and key performance indicators.
  • Monitor and analyze portfolio performance, implementing adjustments to meet objectives and maintain reasonable risk levels.
  • Facilitate the resolution of client concerns and participate actively in business unit meetings and initiatives.

The Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering or a related field.
  • PEO license and PMP certification preferred.
  • 10+ years’ experience in large-scale infrastructure project or portfolio management, with a focus on water or municipal sectors.
  • Demonstrated leadership in market development, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning.
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario’s water infrastructure regulations, funding frameworks, and industry best practices.
  • Exceptional communication, professionalism, integrity, and organizational skills.
  • Political acumen and ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
