Portfolio Director, Hydro Power and Dams

Reporting to the Vice-President of the Division, the Portfolio Director is responsible for developing a strategic approach to markets, clients, and projects, delivering solutions to increase market share consistently and predictably. The role requires close collaboration with other organizational groups for market development, tender responses, and project performance monitoring.

Location – Vancouver, BC

Your role within the team:

Growth & Sales –

  • Maintain a strong presence with key clients in British Columbia, Yukon, and across Canada.
  • Participate actively in strategy development and execution to achieve year-over-year growth in volume and profitability.
  • Oversee Standing Offer contracts and monitor project delivery performance within the portfolio.
  • Lead bid preparations, develop bid strategies, and make Go/No-Go decisions.

Project set-up & Execution –

Provide oversight to ensure quality project delivery within the portfolio:

  • Manage client interactions, chair internal meetings, validate change requests and contractual amendments, manage waivers, claims, risks, and contingencies.

Business delivery –

  • Manage projects to meet regional business goals while maintaining reasonable risk levels.
  • Resolve client complaints effectively.
  • Participate in monthly market meetings.
  • Ensure maximum business efficiency and growth achievement.
  • Experience in engineering, construction, operation, maintenance, or project management in hydropower is an asset, with 10-15+ years of experience.
