Job summary

Intact Financial Corporation seeks an experienced IT Portfolio Analyst to manage portfolio performance and financial forecasts, aligning investments with strategic goals. You will collaborate with Portfolio Manager, PCO, and coordinators to optimize prioritization and resources using advanced Power BI insights.

The role requires 7+ years in portfolio analysis, strong PM tool knowledge (Clarity/JIRA), and excellent stakeholder communication. A PMP/PRINCE2 is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, business, finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in portfolio analysis or IT project management.
  • Strong Power BI expertise with dynamic dashboards.
  • Proven ability to present portfolio status to executive leadership.
  • Deep understanding of PM software (Clarity, JIRA, etc.).
  • Strong analytical skills to turn data into actionable insights.
  • Experience in financial management and budget forecasting for IT portfolios.
  • Outstanding communication and collaboration skills.
  • PMP or PRINCE2 certification is a plus.
  • Bilingualism is required for Quebec candidates; eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee IT project portfolio to optimize investments and align with organizational objectives.

  • Ensure governance rules and IT Business Office procedures are followed.
  • Monitor and report portfolio performance against defined metrics.

Salary range (but not limited to):

94,200 - 115,200

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.


About the role

We are seeking an experienced and highly analytical IT Portfolio Analyst to join our team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for managing the performance of our IT project portfolio and overseeing financial forecasts to ensure alignment with organizational goals and optimal project investments.

As a Portfolio Analyst, you will collaborate closely with Portfolio Manager, PCO, Financial Coordinators and other stakeholders to support project prioritization, budgeting, and resource allocation to delivers maximum value. Your advanced analytical skills and proficiency with Power BI will empower you to provide actionable insights, optimize performance, and support continuous improvement initiatives throughout our IT project ecosystem.

What you will accomplish with us:

Portfolio Planning and Scheduling

  • Oversee the IT project portfolio to optimize project investments and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Support project prioritization through effective processes and tools to enhance project and program selection.

Quality Control & Assurance

  • Ensure compliance with governance rules and the application of processes and procedures established by the IT Business Office.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting
  • Track and assess the performance of projects and programs against defined metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Provide insights on portfolio delivery through presentations, analysis, and performance indicators. Coordinate and assist with capacity management to support project delivery.

Budget and Cost Control

  • Conduct financial analysis, leveraging actual, forecast, and budget data to provide valuable financial insights.

Continuous Improvement

  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement best practices, standards, and methodologies for project and portfolio management.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration and communication, facilitating training and ensuring clear messaging across the organization to PCOs, PMs, Managers, and Directors.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in portfolio analysis, project management, or a similar role in IT projects.
  • Strong expertise in Power BI, including the ability to create dynamic dashboards and visualizations.
  • Proven track record of presenting portfolio status and performance to executive leadership.
  • Deep understanding of project management software (PPM) and tools, including Clarity, JIRA, etc.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to transform data into actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial management and budget forecasting for IT portfolios.
  • Outstanding communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, or similar is a plus.
  • For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
  • No Canadian work experience required, however must be eligible to work in Canada.
