Position Summary

The Porter position is responsible for ensuring the correct setup and dismantling of banquet and meeting rooms to meet individual guest needs, ensuring rooms are set up properly according to specifications detailed on Floorplans provided by the Operations Manager.

This role offers an hourly rate of $16.00-$19.00 CAD and is tip eligible.

Evergreen Role: Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis; there is no application deadline.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure all banquet and meeting spaces are set up according to specifications provided by the Operations Manager or Sales Team.
  • Work independently or as part of a team to set up and dismantle tables, chairs, risers, staging, and removable flooring for meetings. Check and clean meeting rooms before, during, and after events as necessary.
  • Provide service during events, including providing and replenishing water, receiving and storing materials on behalf of clients, and carrying a cellphone to address client concerns promptly.
  • Clean guest and staff washrooms, ensuring toilets and urinals are clean, soap, toilet paper, and paper towels are replenished, and floors are swept and mopped before, during, and after events.
  • Remove garbage during and after events.
  • Collaborate effectively with all levels of the F&B and Sales teams, from servers to management.
Qualifications
  • Ability to work flexible and sometimes long hours based on business needs.
  • Effective organization and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform repetitive, strenuous work.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is not required but considered an asset.
