Responsibilities

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Are you experienced working with cleaning chemicals? Are you looking to find more than just a job – rather a career filled with purpose? If so, we are looking for you to join our team as a Porter at a 364-unit at our affordable housing community Gateways in Far Rockaway, NY.

In this position, you’ll be part of a dedicated team committed to delivering exceptional service to our residents. COMPENSATION:

  • $18.00 - $20.00 / hour
  • Weekly Pay
  • Annual Performance Bonus

Compensation for this position is dependent on a variety of factors, including individual qualifications and geographical location. The range provided is intended to offer a general guideline and may vary based on these factors. Final compensation offers will be determined based on a comprehensive assessment of the candidate's background and the specific requirements of the role.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform upkeep and janitorial duties so that your property is always in great condition, demonstrating pride in your building and grounds.
  • Learn new skills and work closely with the maintenance team on small repairs and preventative activities.
  • Engage in minor maintenance work in coordination with building maintenance team.
  • Assist in preparation of vacant units with maintenance team.
  • Provide excellent customer service to residents while performing job duties.
  • Inspect property and equipment regularly to ensure proper functionality.
  • Perform snow removal and/or landscaping as needed.
  • Maintain building supplies and inventory in proper condition.
  • Communicate with management to address safety concerns as needed.
  • Support site and office operations as assigned by manager.

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • You have at least 1 year experience as a building porter, cleaner, or groundskeeper.
  • Affordable housing experience is a plus.
  • You’re able to work our emergency on-call rotation as needed and can lift up to 50 lbs and stand for an 8-hour shift.
