Job summary

Dreamforce Services Inc. in Toronto is seeking a Pool Opening Technician to join our summer team. You will follow a detailed plan to drain, clean, refill, and prepare outdoor pools for the season, working as part of a dedicated crew.

The role requires outdoor work in all weather, physical stamina, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. You will communicate with customers, follow safety protocols, and help ensure facilities are safe and fully operational.

Qualifications

  • Valid G or G2 driver's license (G preferred)
  • Access to a personal vehicle (preferred)
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs multiple times a day
  • Experience in plumbing, pool operation, or similar fields
  • Ability to complete WHMIS training upon request
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently
  • Comfortable working in all weather conditions

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service by being knowledgeable, courteous, and helpful.
  • Strive to meet and improve customer service standards daily.
  • Load and secure necessary chemicals and equipment in service vehicles.
  • Ensure adherence to all traffic laws while driving to customer locations.
  • Wear appropriate PPE and follow safety protocols.
  • Operate gas-powered equipment according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Handle chemicals safely to prevent spills and accidents.
  • Communicate with customers to access pool facilities and ensure safety protocols.
  • Safely unload equipment and remove any safety covers or water bag pool covers.
  • Ensure all equipment is prepared and ready for use, including power washers and pumps.
  • Safely drain pool water and dispose of it in an environmentally responsible manner.
  • Clean pool surfaces, walls, tile lines, and skimmers.
  • Perform power washing and chemical cleaning as necessary.
  • Remove and store winterization plugs, install return fittings, and reconnect filtration systems.
  • Install pool chemical control systems, handrails, ladders, and hydrostatic valves.
  • Inspect and report any construction-related issues, damaged fittings, or health regulation concerns.
  • Document and report issues with pictures for follow-up.
  • Dispose of all waste and chemicals responsibly.
  • Communicate with customers about pool fill-up procedures and provide guidance for future maintenance

About the Role:
We are seeking dedicated and hard-working individuals for the position of Pool Opening Technician. This role involves working as part of a team to open outdoor pools for the summer season. You will be responsible for following a detailed plan to ensure pools are drained, cleaned, refilled, and fully operational for the season. The job requires working outdoors, in all weather conditions, and requires physical endurance and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

  • Provide excellent customer service by being knowledgeable, courteous, and helpful.
  • Strive to meet and improve customer service standards daily.

Transportation:

  • Load and secure necessary chemicals and equipment in service vehicles.
  • Ensure adherence to all traffic laws while driving to customer locations.

Safety:

  • Wear appropriate PPE and follow safety protocols.

  • Handle chemicals safely to prevent spills and accidents.

On-Site Setup:

  • Communicate with customers to access pool facilities and ensure safety protocols.

End of Opening Procedures:

  • Communicate with customers about pool fill-up procedures and provide guidance for future maintenance.

Key Requirements:

  • Valid G or G2 drivers license (G preferred) ( You are expected to come in every morning in the main office before your field tasks)
  • Access to a personal vehicle (preferred)
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs multiple times a day
  • Experience in plumbing, pool operation, or similar fields is an asset
  • Ability to complete WHMIS training upon request
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently
  • Comfortable working in all weather conditions
