Description

Responsibilities:

Laboratory Preparation & Organization:
  • Prepare the lab according to the guidelines.
  • Assist faculty with laboratory preparation and presentation of scheduled laboratories.
  • Establish a practical laboratory schedule, in collaboration with the department chair.
  • Prepare the laboratory for activities such as Open House, Student-for-a-day, etc.
  • Prepare and recommend laboratory course schedules to the department supervisor.
Student Demonstrations & Assessments:
  • Assist faculty in supervising and demonstrating clinical skills to students in the laboratory.
  • Assist faculty during student examinations in the laboratory and classrooms.
  • Inform the department chair and relevant faculty of incidents related to students' professional conduct.
  • Organize and schedule lab review sessions for out-of-phase students in January and May if needed.
Laboratory Equipment:
  • Maintain the laboratory and equipment in a hygienic, clean, and functional condition.
  • Identify equipment issues and coordinate service calls.
  • Maintain inventory of laboratory equipment and supplies; place orders as needed.
  • Utilize Dawson College's purchasing software.
  • Ensure a safe work environment at all times.
Other Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and/or coordinate fitting of N95 masks for students if necessary.
  • Assist with college events such as Open House, High School visits, registration, etc., upon request.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements:
