Job summary

Hospital Alliance Group in Timmins, Ontario, is seeking a qualified sleep technologist to perform and monitor overnight sleep studies. You will support physicians in diagnosing sleep disorders and ensure patient safety during testing.

Responsibilities include setting up and monitoring overnight studies, interpreting key data such as brain waves, oxygen levels, heart rhythm and breathing, and maintaining high-quality patient care in a fast-paced night-shift environment.

Qualifications

• Current CPR certification (required upon hire)

JOB TYPE: Full-time (Night Shift Rotation)

RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will perform and monitor overnight sleep studies to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating sleep disorders.

• Set up and monitor all aspects of an overnight sleep study.
• An overnight sleep study monitors a patient’s brain waves, eye movements, muscle movements, blood oxygen, heart rhythm, breathing and body position during the night.
• A sleep study is used to diagnose all types of sleep disorders such as sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy, and types of parasomnias.

QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred:

• Experience in a healthcare or medical field
• Relevant post-secondary education
• Bilingual (English and French)

COMPENSATION

Competitive salary based on training and certification:

• $20.00/hour – Starting rate
• $21.00/hour – After 6 months and titration training
• $22.00/hour – After ASTEP completion
• $25.00–$27.00/hour – After obtaining Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification
