Job summary

MAKR Group in Kelowna, BC, is seeking a Polisher to deliver final surface finishes on Wekid Mfg. products. This on-site position emphasizes safety, quality, and teamwork in a fast-paced shop environment.

You will read fabrication drawings, operate polishing equipment, cranes, and contribute to continuous improvement with Quality Control and Engineering. A 10-hour afternoon/evening shift Mon-Thu, with a competitive hourly rate of $25–$27, awaits a mechanically minded problem-solver.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role is required.
• Experience with stainless steel or pipe is an asset.
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings.
• Proficient using hand tools and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret fabrication drawings for grind symbols
• Operate polishing equipment, including cutting, grinding, testing, and drilling tools in a safe manner
• Operate overhead cranes and lifting equipment in a safe manner
• Collaborate with Quality Control, Engineering, Safety Committee, and Management to continuously improve the product, manufacturing processes and working environment
• Accurately track job time using a tablet and bar code system
• Participate in departmental and company-wide meetings

As a Polisher, you will be responsible for the final surface finish of Wekid Mfg. products in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining the commitment to quality that our customers demand.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Read and interpret fabrication drawings for grind symbols


• Operate polishing equipment, including cutting, grinding, testing, and drilling tools in a safe manner


• Operate overhead cranes and lifting equipment in a safe manner


• Collaborate with Quality Control, Engineering, Safety Committee, and Management to continuously improve the product, manufacturing processes and working environment


• Accurately track job time using a tablet and bar code system


• Participate in departmental and company-wide meetings

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous experience working in a similar role is required; prior work with stainless steel metal or pipe is considered an asset


• Prior experience working with power and hand tools


• Understanding of fabrication processes required


• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings is required

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check is required as a condition of employment.


• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada

• This is an on-site position located in Kelowna, BC. (805 Crowley Ave, Kelowna, BC).


• This position works a 10-hour afternoon/evening shift (2:00 pm - 12:30 am), Monday to Thursday
