Policy Analyst – Transportation – Thunder Bay

Northern Policy Institute (NPI) is seeking a full-time Transportation Policy Analyst for a 3-year contract in Thunder Bay, Ontario. This position is ideal for recent graduates or individuals looking to apply their knowledge and experience in Northern Ontario.

The Policy Analyst will explore challenges and opportunities related to transportation safety, reliability, and infrastructure in Northern Ontario communities. The role involves analyzing transportation investments to foster economic growth and improve quality of life across the region.

Strong analytical and writing skills are essential. Candidates should be capable of assessing descriptive statistics, exploring policy implications, and using comparative evidence to support policy proposals. While a master’s degree is preferred, applicants with a diploma or bachelor’s degree plus at least two years of practical experience are encouraged to apply. Bilingualism is advantageous. Multilingual skills or specific knowledge of Northern Ontario are assets.

NPI values multilingual community engagement. An additional $1,500 over the base salary is available for candidates fluent in Anishinabemowin, Oji-Cree, Cree, Michif, or French, alongside English, in a professional setting.
