JOB SUMMARY:

The Policy Analyst will support the Tulalip Tribes through the Treaty Rights Office on a wide array of natural and cultural resource issues concerning the Tribe. Responsibilities include analyzing impacts of proposed projects on the Tulalip’s off-reservation treaty-reserved rights, including treaty fishing rights and other cultural rights. The analyst will formulate written responses and recommendations, deliver oral presentations, and advocate for tribal treaty rights. Collaboration with tribal departments, state and federal agencies, NGOs, and legislative bodies is essential to create and implement programs and policies. The role involves organizing and representing the Tulalip Tribes in technical and policy forums. The Policy Analyst is expected to work independently and cooperatively under the guidance of the Senior Environmental Policy Analyst and the Director of Treaty Rights and Government Affairs.

COMPENSATION:

$33.27 per hour

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Policy, Planning, Environmental Science, Biology, Native Environmental Science, Natural Resources Management, Conservation Biology, or related field.
  • Master’s Degree preferred. May be considered in lieu of three years of experience.
MINIMUM RELATED EXPERIENCE:
  • Four years of experience in Conservation Biology, Natural Resources Management or Policy, Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Native Environmental Science, or related fields.
  • Experience working with Tribal Governments and diverse cultures.
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES:
  • WA State Driver License with personal auto insurance.
  • Must adhere to Motor Vehicle Regulations (Abstract Required).
  • Employment contingent upon successful pre-employment background check.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

This is a regular full-time position.
