A Police Services Support Coordinator provides administrative support in a relief capacity moving to numerous units within Police Services as required. The Police Services Support Coordinator is distinguished from the other clerical and administrative support classifications by the scope of the “coordination role” required to support of a number of different service areas necessitating a greater level of expertise and experience. Duties from several positions include Police Services Clerk, Police Services Watch Clerk, Police Services Records Clerk, Police Information Clerk and Police Services Coordinator.
Duties - Union
• Transcribes statements, creates and transcribes files, updates, maintains, retrieves and audits information on databases adhering to business rules.
• Provides reception services; directs and screens phone calls, responding to or referring enquiries and complaints; provides general information to the public regarding police policies and regulations.
• Conducts administrative duties such as process mail, correspondence and documents, reports, presentations, minutes, invoices and provides training, researches and compiles statistics.
• Processes police information checks, Pardon applications and VISA applications.
• Manages the receipt, storage and return of found property and takes statements from victims, witnesses and associated individuals.
• Plans, prepares and coordinates special events and programs.
• Ensures the security of the detachment/facility is adhered to at all times, by screening and tracking all visitors.
• Manages equipment rooms and processes electronic media requests.
• Multi-tasks and prioritizes workload and manages timelines.
• Participates in working groups, employee engagement and committees.
