We are currently looking for Inventory Control Guards to work at the APD site with us.
The position requires on-call work, so flexible availability is advantageous.
Pay rate: $24 per hour
Some of your responsibilities include:
- Ensure inventory control operates effectively and provides excellent service and support to the client.
- Follow APD, department, and Commissionaires’ policies.
- Issue and track location of equipment using Equipment Tracker.
- Ensure all equipment is charged and operational; arrange repairs and maintenance as necessary.
- Track and maintain uniform and duty gear items.
- Arrange shipping of courier packages and receive courier deliveries.
- Prepare orders for supplies.
- Load new patrol vehicles with equipment and supplies, and set up with cell phones, radios, and MDTs before issuing.
- Assist Forensic Identification Staff in identifying assignment history of cameras, voice recorders, and memory cards.
- Liaise with cell phone suppliers regarding issues.
- Coordinate with Firearms and Training Officers for equipment needs and repairs.
- Perform other tasks as requested by APD staff.
Your Must-Haves:
- Basic First Aid/Occupational First Aid Level 1 (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to clear a Criminal Background Check
- Minimum 5 years of residence in Canada
- Interest and experience in serving the public
- Professional conduct, dress, and deportment
- Proficiency with computers and reporting systems
- Ability to handle emergencies calmly and professionally
- Fluent in English (written, verbal, reading)
Nice-to-Haves:
- BC Security Licence
- Experience in a similar role
- Advanced Security Training
- RCMP or policing experience
- Criminal Justice Degree or ongoing studies
