The PMO Innovation Commercialization Lead is accountable for ensuring the successful delivery of projects in accordance with the critical path and supporting processes across the organization, including both Innovation / new product development and renovations. This pivotal role requires a seasoned leader with extensive experience in supply chain, operations and cross-functional collaboration, with hands-on transformative experience in ingraining IBP fundamentals in a business. The incumbent will lead and oversee the strategic direction of projects aimed at bringing products to market, often managing multiple projects and collaborating with cross functional teams to ensure success launches.

This teammate will be accountable for:

Project and Portfolio Product Management

  • Provides overall vision, direction, and guidance for commercialization projects through the stage gate process, aligning it with the company's strategic goals
  • Provides perspective and guidance for management, refinement and continuous improvement of the stage gate process, working closely with marketing and other functions
  • Defines project objectives, goals, and timelines, plans and organizes work, delegates tasks, manages resources, and monitors project progress
  • Works closely with various departments (e.g., marketing, sales, product development, operations, vineyards) to ensure seamless execution of the commercialization plan
  • Progress monitoring through weekly status meetings to keep projects on track, address challenges promptly, and manage a central repository for project documentation and reports
  • Identifies, assesses, and mitigates potential risks that could impact the commercialization project's success
  • Effectively communicates project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders, ensuring everyone is aligned and informed
  • Tracks key performance indicators (KPIs), analyzes results, and reports on progress to ELT
  • Makes critical decisions related to the project, including resource allocation, budget adjustments, and course corrections
  • Provides leadership and guidance to project managers and other team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment

Leadership and Team Development

  • Lead, mentor and develop the PMO commercialization team, ensuring alignment with corporate strategic objectives
  • Provide strategic direction and drive team performance through clear goal setting and KPIs
  • Identify skill gaps within the team and implement professional development plans
  • Conduct regular one-on-one coaching sessions on a regular basis
  • Optimize team efficiency by developing, improving processes and leveraging automation where possible

We are looking for a teammate with:

  • Exceptional understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques
  • Must have experience in integrated business planning [IBP] in a manufacturing, preferably consumer goods organizations
  • Solid understanding and practical experience of Stage-gate and product lifecycle management
  • Familiarity with the product development and commercialization process
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of the specific industry or sector in which the commercialization projects are focused
  • Bachelor’s degree required, with a sound understanding of Stage-gate and Product Lifecycle Management
  • 10+ years of experience in project management of new product developments / product-commercialization
  • Must have demonstrated, practical professional experience in evolving S&OP to Integrated Business Planning
  • Experience in industrial food and Beverage, high volume commodity products segment, and/or CPG
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset
  • High degree of ambiguity management with strong critical thinking and multitasking abilities.
  • Experience of leading and developing high performing teams
  • Sound analytical skills, coupled with business acumen
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from senior management
  • Proven ability to motivate and influence people, as well as manage relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to identify risks, develop mitigation plans, and implement process improvements
  • Demonstrated ability to drive speed of execution in the organization and move projects through various phase

Direct Reports : 3 Project Managers of commercialization

Collaborates with : Operations, Demand Planning, Liquid & Material Management, Procurement, Marketing, Sales, Finance, Winemaking, Quality
