Explore your next role:
Working with the Property Maintenance and Equipment team, the PME Mechanic, Lead Hand position is responsible to trouble shoot any issues or concerns regarding ground equipment, including the performance of general repairs, routine maintenance and inspection on a variety of mechanical equipment.
- Perform general maintenance on ground support vehicles and facility equipment including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production vehicles and machinery, read and interpret equipment manuals, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
- Perform minor welding operations.
- Work with production, ground support personnel and management on specified projects.
- Complete all necessary reports and records related to the work done and as required.
- Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
- Provide back up support for other duties including snow removal, grounds maintenance using mechanized loaders, forklifts and tractors.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Your Distinctive Ingredients for Success:
- Completion of high school as a minimum.
- Preference will be given to individuals with previous experience.
- Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician license is considered an asset.
- Display basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in the following categories: air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, energy conservation, and/or general building.
- Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment.
- Use the Lockout/Tagout system before performing any maintenance work.
- Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; and properly store flammable materials.
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions with strong attention to detail and display basic computer skills.
- Strong work ethic, organizational and time management skills.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support team to reach common goals, and listen and respondappropriately to the concerns of other employees.
- Candidates must be eligible to work for a Canadian company, able to travel internationally and provide a clear criminal background check.
