Job summary

Johnson Controls in Canada is seeking a Team Lead to coordinate and oversee a small production group. You will lead hands-on as a working lead, ensuring on-time shifts, safe practices, and quality output while guiding training and continuous improvement.

The role emphasizes organization, safety, and effective communication with supervisors and peers, with duties spanning from material readiness to paperwork and performance metrics.

Qualifications

• Post‑secondary education in a related field is an asset.
• 1 or more years’ experience as a production or construction team lead.
• Direct working knowledge of operations, warehouse, and transportation management.
• Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering, as well as inventory control of these items.
• Knowledge of local and federal regulations including AOHS and Employment Standards Code.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• First Aid skills and/or certificates are considered assets.
• Experience with all safe practices, procedures, and overall processes associated with manufacturing from raw materials to finished product.

Overview

The primary role of the Team Lead is to perform duties as required by a department head and/or Supervisor, to coordinate assembly and fabrication of products for a small group of employees. The Lead designation is that of a “working lead”, where the majority of the employee’s time is hands on as a functioning team member.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Ensure crew is arriving on time, ready and fit for duty at the start of each shift.

• Ensure workers have proper material and tools to complete daily tasks.

• Support shop hygiene and 5‑S program.
• Perform all duties in accordance with the Silent‑Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards.
• Organize department and keep department clean, also clean department at the end of each work day.
• Inspect equipment to ensure good working order.
• Other duties as required.

Working Conditions

Commercial/Industrial environment. Manual dexterity required to use necessary tools. Exercise caution, as the environment presents many naturally occurring hazards. Always adhere to safety policies (wear protective equipment).
