Position Overview :

Sales Associates provide fast, friendly service by actively seeking out customers to assess their needs and provide assistance. They focus on department and product knowledge, offering information on product features and related items to support complete projects. Associates greet, engage, and thank every customer in their department and provide basic service in adjacent areas. The primary goal is customer service and solving customer needs.

Key Responsibilities :

Ensures Customer Satisfaction

  • Follow Home Depot’s GET Model: Greeting, Engaging, and Thanking customers
  • Actively seek customers and escort them to appropriate merchandise across departments
  • Ask open-ended questions to understand customer projects and needs
  • Promote services such as Special Services, Tool Rental, Pro Desk, and Pro Services

Drives Sales

  • Discuss options (good, better, best) and suggest related items/services outside the department
  • Educate customers about entire projects
  • Use empowerment programs to satisfy customers when necessary
  • Maintain daily stock: signage, display, cleanliness

Builds Skills and Knowledge

  • Maintain knowledge of all products within and adjacent to the department
  • Proactively seek knowledge on products and services

Maintains Safety and Security

  • Follow all safety and Loss Prevention policies and procedures
