Job description

Role Level: CUPE9 - $35.525 per hour (plus benefits & paid vacation)

Status: Permanent Full-Time

Site: Mississauga Hospital (with flexibility to work at other sites)

Hours of Work/Shifts: Monday - Friday (including Weekends) / 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM plus on-call

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing maintenance duties throughout the hospital facilities, according to policies, procedures, legislated codes, and regulations to support a functional, reliable, safe, and comfortable healthcare environment.

Educational Requirements:

Minimum grade 12 education with a current Province of Ontario Skilled Trade license in Plumbing and/or equivalent, with courses in Refrigeration, HVAC, Electricity, Mechanics, and CAD/Blue print reading.

Qualifications:
  • Completion of an Apprenticeship program required
  • Ability to make decisions on proper use of materials and means of effecting repairs
  • Flexibility to work all shifts on a rotating basis
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • A positive work and attendance record is essential
