Plumber (CAMH Facility Maintenance)

The Maintenance Plumber will report to the Sr. Facility Manager on site and to the site Contract Manager.

The Plumber is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes, fixtures and other plumbing used for water distribution and wastewater disposal in commercial buildings.

This role will be based in Toronto, ON.

Your role within the team:

  1. Install, repair and maintain plumbing systems and fixtures in buildings. The plumber reads blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks and waste and drainage systems.
  2. Plan, install and service plumbing systems, fixtures, piping equipment and controls. These piping systems may be used to transport water, waste, gases or hot liquids.
  3. Review building plans and specifications to determine the layout for plumbing and related materials.
  4. Identify required tools and special equipment, the type and size of pipe required.
  5. Locate and mark positions for connections and fixtures.
  6. Install supports and hangers for pipe, fixtures and equipment.
  7. Assemble and install valves and fittings.
  8. Install, repair, and maintain water treatment equipment, piping and controls.
  9. Install, repair, and maintain underground storm sanitary and water piping systems, sinks, tubs and toilets, water heaters and air conditioners.
  10. Install, repair, and maintain plumbing fixtures, appliances and trim.
  11. Test pipe systems and fixtures for leaks.
  12. Maintain all building codes, installation requirements and relevant legislation.
  13. Perform scheduled maintenance service on plumbing systems and fixtures.
  14. Apply all codes to installations, repairs, and maintenance.
  15. Ensure all requirements as specified by the manufacturer of systems and fixtures are met.
  16. Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance meet the requirements of the appropriate codes and environment protection requirements.
  17. Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance are properly sized, aligned, supported and graded.
  18. Additional duties as needed include performing basic carpentry, minor electrical work, general equipment maintenance of Air Handling Units, Boilers, Chillers, Cooling Towers, Water Treatment Activities and specific Health and Safety checks.
  19. Support for ensuring a clean and organized work environment not limited to the BAS room, all mechanical, electrical, storage rooms including the central utility plant.
  20. Maintain detailed records of all pertinent information regarding work assignments and client demand events on site using QFM software and the specific end use logbooks on site.
  21. Other duties as assigned.
