Job summary

Kibbi is seeking a plumber apprentice to support residential plumbing installations across multiple Halifax locations. You will read blueprints, locate connections, and prepare spaces for pipe work in walls and floors, while following safety standards.

The role requires a Registered Apprenticeship certificate and 3–5 years of plumbing experience. A strong team player with good communication will thrive in this on-site position with varied shifts.

Qualifications

• Registered Apprenticeship certificate or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of plumbing experience preferred.
• Strong reading of blueprints and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings and specs to determine plumbing layout and water supply.
• Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passages and fixtures in walls/floors.
• Cut openings in walls and floors to fit pipes and fittings.
• Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, cement, soldering, brazing or welding.
• Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.
• Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing.
• Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size.

WORK SETTING

TASKS

• Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems
• Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors
• Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings
• Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment
• Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges
