Job summary

MEP Services Group in Toronto, Ontario is looking for a skilled plumber to install and repair domestic, commercial, and industrial plumbing systems. You will read blueprints, determine layouts, and work across various sites with on-site supervision.

This role requires a high school diploma and 2–3 years of plumbing experience. The candidate will travel to diverse locations, perform cost estimates, and may use CADD and related software as part of the job.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• 2–3 years of experience in plumbing.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Install domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems.
• Repair domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems.
• Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems.
• Prepare tenders and quotations.
• Instruct apprentices.
• Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors.
• Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings.
• Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment.
• Schedule personnel, tools and equipment.
• Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.
• Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing.
• Supervise other workers.
• Estimate costs and materials.
• Operate CADD and other computer software systems.
• Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size.
