Position

The Corporation of the County of Huron’s Public Works department is seeking Seasonal Weekend/On-Call Snow Plow Operators.

Position Summary

Maintains roads according to standards using heavy equipment, routine inspection and maintenance of heavy equipment, yards, and shop. Also performs duties of Winter Road Patroller as-needed. The term of the contract will be for the winter season; approximately from November 15, 2025, to April 9, 2025.

Qualifications and Education
  • 15. CLASS DZ DRIVER LICENSE
  • 16. 1 YR OPERATING A TRUCK (I.E. TANDEM) IN A CONSTRUCTION OR MAINTENANCE ENVIRONMENT
  • 17. SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE HURON COUNTY PLOW OPERATOR TRAINING PROGRAM.
  • 18. DRIVER ABSTRACT WITHOUT SIGNIFICANT VIOLATIONS
  • 19. QUALIFIED TO OPERATE A CHAINSAW.
  • PREFERRED SKILLS: AZ LICENSE
Competitive Compensation
  • $30.67 per hour, as per the 2025 non-union pay grid.
