We are looking for a PLC Service Technician. Our client equipment is installed on top of tall buildings and other structures. The individual will be required to work at heights from time to time. The candidate must also possess an aptitude and willingness to work with their hands.

Strong ability to troubleshoot electrical power and control systems as well as PLC ladder logic. The company’s equipment includes a broad array of mechanical/structural and electromechanical components including gear motors, linear actuators, hydraulic systems and power packs, battery systems, wireless controls, PLC controls, VFDs and many more.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, candidates MUST have:

  • Min. 5+ years of North American electrical experience in machine building and maintenance, power, infrastructure, chemical, food and beverage or other custom machine service, maintenance or manufacturing.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge in reading and understanding electrical schematics.
  • Experience with Schneider product line and Rockwell Automation (A-B).
  • PLC programming and configuration of VFDs.
  • Understanding of electrical codes including Canadian and USA codes.
  • Experience in designing large-scale custom industrial machinery, factory/industrial.
  • Ability to travel to the USA (70% - 80%).

Responsibilities:

The job responsibilities include:

  • Travel to customer and subcontractor sites to troubleshoot, assist with equipment installation, wiring, commissioning, factory acceptance testing, and site acceptance testing.
  • Assist service technicians in troubleshooting, fixing problems, refurbishments, and upgrades.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and manufacturing staff.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to travel to the USA.
