Base pay range

$38.00/hr - $48.00/hr

Job Summary

We are seeking a PLC Automation Mechanic to join our Ontario, California facility. Responsibilities include programming automation and control systems such as DCS, PLCs, HMIs, and process controllers. The role involves creating and reading logic diagrams, troubleshooting equipment, and some travel for onsite commissioning. Candidates should have thorough electrical design knowledge and be capable of devising new solutions, modifying drawings and manuals, and ensuring compliance with standards.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop DCS, PLC, and HMI programs for automated processes and equipment.
  • Plan and conduct independent engineering evaluations and work, including designing, applying, and adapting engineering techniques and products.
  • Modify drawings, specifications, calculations, manuals, charts, and graphs as needed.
  • Plan and conduct cost estimates and specify control components.
  • Coordinate across disciplines and communicate effectively on projects.
  • Analyze reports, drawings, and data to plan and design work.
  • Evaluate electrical systems and components, applying knowledge of electricity, programming, and materials.
  • Research, develop, design, and test machinery, including custom features.
  • Contribute to team efforts and complete special projects as assigned.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Systems Technology, Automation Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-4 years of relevant experience; 5+ years in automation-related industries preferred.
  • Strong electrical design and engineering knowledge.
  • Proficiency with Wonderware, Honeywell DCS, Modicon, Rockwell, AutoCAD, MS Office suite, and SolidWorks (preferred).
  • Ability to multitask and complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Experience in food manufacturing environment required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
