Job Purpose: The Playground Worker will assist the Playground Leader with planning and facilitating recreational activities, life skills and lessons in a playground setting that aim to uplift and empower community children. The Playground Worker will support building relationships with program participants and their families, while helping to provide safe, healthy and fun activities for children during the summer.
Accountabilities:
Internal: MU leadership, staff, volunteers. External: Community members.
Reports to the CFS Director. No direct reports.
Minor responsibilities. No involvement in handling funds or budget decisions.
Primarily outdoors in playground environments. May need to lift up to 30 pounds.
Willingness to support the mission of The Salvation Army. Compliance with OH&S regulations. Alternative education and experience considered.
High school coursework required. Skills include professionalism, confidentiality, teamwork, organization, and attention to detail. Experience with children, communication, and conflict resolution are essential.
Range: $15.65 to $16.90, up to $20.28, based on experience and other factors.
