Platform Engineer

Location: REMOTE / Toronto, Ontario

Our client, a well-funded, research—and product-focused generative AI startup in the video, entertainment, and media space, is looking to hire a Platform Engineer to join its team. The team's philosophy is to move at breakneck speeds, iterate, and build top-class products.

You will play a pivotal role in ensuring system reliability, performance and security. You will take on significant ownership and responsibility for the company's infrastructure (infrastructure design & maintenance, cloud management, automation protocols, CI/CD).

You will also be expected to deliver strong technical and non-technical communication (internal and external) while maintaining a start-up mindset. Please note that the successful candidate will be required to meet with the team in the downtown Toronto office at least 1x per week.

Must Have Skills:

1. 5+ Years of demonstrable platform engineering experience in a hypergrowth start-up
2. Demonstrable experience with cloud (AWS) platforms and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
3. Demonstrable experience building with Terraform
4. Demonstrable experience working with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Github)
5. Demonstrable experience working with monitoring and logging tools such as: ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog
6. Demonstrable experience scripting and automating tasks using Python, bash or similar languages

The ideal candidate will also have the following/and or a similar non-technical background:

1. Demonstrable ability to meet project deadlines
2. Experience working in a hyper-growth scaling startup
3. Clear and concise communication skills with technical and non-technical partners
