Overview

Your role as Platform Developer, Backend

The Platform team is looking for a Platform Developer, Backend to work on the platform tools and services that power Dialogue’s software products.

About the Platform Development team

Dialogue’s Integrated Health Platform️ supports the health and wellness of millions of people across 49,000+ organizations. We operate a reliable, highly-available, multi-tenant software architecture that powers several white-label mobile applications for our members, as well as desktop software used by our operations team to deliver care.

The Platform team’s mission is to streamline the development of these products by building and operating valuable platform technologies. These technologies aim to improve the security, reliability, and agility of the architecture and its data integrations as we continue to grow.

What you’ll be doing
  • Write precise, readable and testable code and maintainable test suites that constitute a good example for other Dialogue developers
  • Implement and maintain highly available and fault-tolerant backend services and platform systems
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of data pipelines to ensure effective management of information flows
  • Write and participate in the development and communication of technical design documents to align the team on clear solutions
  • Monitor system performance and reliability, implementing improvements as necessary to ensure high availability
  • Ensure the security and compliance of the platform with industry standards and regulations
  • Improve the skills and effectiveness of other developers across the company through code review, documentation, and direct guidance
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, and apply them to improve the platform

Our team also owns the following platform capabilities:

  • Workflow orchestration
  • Data Warehouse Infrastructure
  • User authentication and authorization
  • A member engagement platform

We design, build, maintain, and operate a variety of components, including HTTP services, data pipelines, libraries, and infrastructure

Qualifications

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • Enjoy creating long-term business value with platform technologies
  • Have 3-5 years of meaningful experience working on distributed, service-oriented architectures
  • Feel comfortable designing software and communicating with colleagues about your decisions and tradeoffs
  • Have familiarity with event-driven architectures, or willing to learn on the job
  • Have familiarity with data synchronization architectures, or willing to learn on the job
  • Experience with Test-Driven Development is a plus

Please note that as we serve customers across Canada, bilingualism is essential for this position. You may be required to communicate in French and English.
