thyssenkrupp Materials CA, Ltd. is seeking a Material Handler to apply metal to customer orders, operate cranes, forklifts, and other equipment, and ensure safe, clean processing areas. The role requires following work orders, recording measurements, and maintaining equipment.

You will collaborate with sales for order changes and participate in lean/quality initiatives. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, data entry, and assisting with packaging while ensuring non-conforming

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1–2 years of machine operation experience.
• Ability to read and write.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Job SummaryApply metal to customer orders and accurately process material according to the work order specifications using advanced machinery or having an advanced level of skill in the use of warehouse machinery. Ensure that processing equipment is maintained in a safe and clean condition. Maintain processing area in a clean, safe and orderly manner. Complete all required information entry accurately. Perform any other tasks as assigned.Job DescriptionKey Accountabilities:Must be certified in the material handler position.Set up, operate, and maintain cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.Pull, inspect and verify product before processingProperly and safely set up equipment to run material to set up note specifications.Process set up notes according to work order specificationsVerify that product meets set up note specifications per written work instructions and record measurements (sampling plan)Communicate with appropriate sales representative regarding changes/clarification to ordersShould be able to make recommendations to improve processes in the manufacturing area.Perform equipment preventive maintenanceProperly enter/delete material identification tags per written instructionsBalance the immediate workload recognizing when help is needed and when to be the team player to dig right in and assist or direct others,Perform general clean-upAssist in the packaging of material per written work instructions and work orderMaintain issued measurement equipment in working conditionProperly operate weighing scale and record inspection measurementsIdentify, record, and segregate scrap and any non-conforming materialProvide feedback to supervision regarding machine efficiency and product quality.Perform quality checks during machine operation to insure proper functionComplete production/productivity logs and reconcile production dataComplete job responsibilities in a manner that does not put him/her or other individuals in an unsafe situation.Train others when requiredAssist in any activities related to lean and/or qualityMeets TKMNA Employee Attributes / CompetenciesThe above is intended to describe the general content of and requirement for the performance of this job.
