Pay Rate - $22-$24 HR

Job summary
The Machine Operator for Jomar equipment is responsible for the full-cycle operation of injection stretch blow molding (ISBM) machines. This includes setting up molds and machine parameters, monitoring the production process, and conducting quality control checks to ensure manufactured products meet strict specifications. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Machine operation: Set up, operate, and monitor all phases of the Jomar ISBM process, including injection, heating, stretching, and blowing.
- Setup and changeovers: Change out tooling and molds according to production orders. Adjust machine controls, including temperature, pressure, speed, and timing, for different products and materials.
- Process monitoring: Continuously monitor machine operations to ensure proper function and efficiency. Quickly detect and respond to any machine alarms or production issues.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve basic mechanical and process-related issues that occur during a production run to minimize downtime. Escalate complex problems to the maintenance or engineering team.
- Quality control: Perform in-process and final inspections of products using precision tools such as calipers and gauges to ensure they conform to specifications.
- Waste management: Trim excess material and grind scrapped plastic parts for recycling.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate production records, including logging quantities produced, rejected units, and machine activity.
- Preventive maintenance: Complete routine machine maintenance and cleaning tasks to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Safety and housekeeping: Adhere to all company safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience as a machine operator, with specific knowledge of Jomar ISBM equipment.
- Technical knowledge: Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting. Experience with computer-controlled production equipment is a plus.
- Blueprint reading: Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and production instructions.
- Attention to detail: Excellent visual inspection skills to identify product defects or flaws.
- Problem-solving: The ability to think on one\'s feet and address operational problems efficiently.
- Teamwork and communication: Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with supervisors and team members.
- Physical stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift materials up to 50 lbs.
Working conditions
- Environment: Manufacturing facility with moderate to high noise levels and temperatures that can fluctuate.
- Safety equipment: Requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed boots.
