Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Plant Superintendent oversees production activities at the Calgary facility, ensuring standards for efficiency, quality, and cost are met. This role leads the Production Team to achieve key performance indicators related to quality, cost, safety, regulatory compliance, environmental impact, and customer service.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead production supervisors and hourly employees to maintain consistent quality of work.
  • Oversee production operations to ensure quality and adherence to specifications, meeting customer and business objectives.
  • Achieve business metrics such as yield, labor efficiency, sanitation, and overhead costs.
  • Maintain a safe work environment, focusing on accident reduction, energy conservation, and waste minimization.
  • Ensure compliance with OHS, environmental, regulatory, and corporate standards. Investigate non-compliance issues.
  • Monitor employee relations practices and ensure proper administration of the collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A degree in business administration or related field, or at least 5 years of leadership experience in meat processing or operations management with increasing responsibility.
  • Proven ability to manage and develop people, leading teams to excel.
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications.

The successful candidate will be based at our primary meat processing plant.
