Overview
Reporting to the Kingston/Belleville Plant Manager, this role manages the plant operations at Modular 4. It is responsible for ensuring top performance on safety, environmental, and production. Responsibilities include hiring, developing, leading, and managing all plant employees. The Superintendent will ensure alignment with all functional groups including safety, environment, land, manufacturing, and supply chain to drive a consistent process and standard approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety Culture: Develop and instill a site-level safety culture through engagement with employees and contractors, aiming for “zero harm”. Lead daily safety huddles, ensure compliance with safety policies, participate in safety audits, and manage contractor safety performance.
- Human Resources: Responsible for development, motivation, and training of all direct reports, managing disciplinary actions, leading hiring processes, and promoting operational efficiency and performance management.
- Production Management: Determine manpower needs, manage schedules, meet production targets, oversee maintenance planning, and manage procurement related to production.
- Financial Management: Develop and adhere to budgets, participate in EBIT reviews, manage inventory forecasts, and support supply chain efficiency.
- Customer Focus: Coordinate with sales and dispatch to meet customer requirements, manage stockpiles, and address quality issues.
- Land and Environmental Management: Plan activities according to the Mining Plan, ensure compliance with MNRF requirements, and assist in environmental management and audits.
- Community Relations: Act as a secondary contact with local stakeholders, including neighbors, competitors, and government officials.
Relationships with Other Functions
- Collaborate with Plant Manager, Manufacturing Group, Safety Group, Land and Environmental Manager, Operations Analyst, and Quality Control.

- Safety leadership, achieving financial and production targets, safety and environmental compliance, operational forecasting, and implementing manufacturing best practices.

Qualifications
Education & Work Experience
- Undergraduate degree in business, engineering, or equivalent experience; minimum 5 years relevant experience.
