Job summary

Amrize Canada Inc. is seeking a Plant Superintendent to oversee the safe and efficient operation of a concrete batch plant, including drivers and maintenance. You will ensure timely delivery and high-quality products, while mentoring staff and upholding safety standards.

You will supervise scheduling, inventory, and reporting, coordinating with the Plant Manager and Sales to enhance customer satisfaction and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of supervisory experience.
• Customer service oriented.
• Preferred fields of study or experience: Ready Mix business, Logistics, Civil Engineering Technology, or Business Administration.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and maintain composure in a busy environment.
• Self-motivated with operations analysis skills to track performance, establish action plans, and maximize truck turns per day.
• Computer proficiency (Word, Excel, SAP, Command-Alkon).

• Maintain the plant in accordance with standard guidelines and policies.
• Schedule concrete deliveries and provide pricing.

ABOUT THE ROLE

To supervise the safe and efficient operation of a concrete batch plant including concrete mixer drivers and plant maintenance to ensure delivery of quality product, timely delivery and customer satisfaction.

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours .
• Ensure safety guidelines are followed by employees daily, correct safety issues immediately, offer coaching on safe work practices, and keep accurate daily safety talk binders and documentation .
• Supervise drivers and maintain a positive work environment .
• Demonstrate a commitment to meet/exceed environmental compliance .
• Submit reports on time to the area administrator and keep accurate records .
• Communicate with customers, the Plant Manager, and Sales Representatives to ensure a positive customer experience and identify sales opportunities .
• Create efficient scheduling for routine maintenance, schedule jobs to ensure best use of fleet, and utilize maintenance programs to maximize plant up-time and manage costs .
• Manage inventory of materials and products, conduct physical inventory counts, order materials, and ensure accurate payroll .
• Maintain the plant in accordance with standard guidelines and ensure all policies are followed .
• Schedule concrete deliveries, provide pricing to customers, order raw materials as required for production, and ensure accurate batching to produce quality products in a fast-paced environment .

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Minimum 3–5 years of supervisory experience .

Additional Requirements:

• Available to work overtime as needed .
• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators . Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests .
