Job summary

Stellantis Windsor plant is seeking a Plant Quality Engineer (PQE) to own product conformity across systems and components. The PQE reports to the PQE Lead and works with plant and corporate teams to achieve quality targets.

Responsibilities include validating changes, addressing quality issues, leading Kaizen and risk assessments, and driving continuous improvement. The role offers a CAD/ON site position with a salary range of CAD 75,000–CAD 95,000 per year.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Proficient in data analysis to identify top issues and trends.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills across all organization levels.
  • Experience with problem-solving tools.
  • Ability to coach and teach others.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Validate product changes and improve outgoing quality to meet customer expectations.
  • Respond to manufacturing quality issues and manage product changes.
  • Lead Kaizen and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive actions.
  • Support KPI management and warranty/CQI review.
  • Lead root-cause analysis using FMEA and other risk assessment tools.
  • Coordinate and lead internal and external resources to meet timelines.

Job description

The Plant Quality Engineer (PQE) - Responsible for all aspects of product conformity for their systems / Components at the XYZ Plant. The PQE reports directly to the PQE Lead and will build effective relationships with both salaried and hourly, assembly plant/corporate personnel, in order to complete projects within their area of responsibility.

Additional responsibilitiesinclude but are not limited to:
  • Validating product changes, providing technicalexpertise, and improving outgoing quality that will meet or exceed our customers’ expectations
  • With unquestioned integrity and strength of conviction, the PQE responds to manufacturing quality issues and manages all product changes
  • Through the usage of advanced problem-solving methods and SPW kaizenmethodology, the PQE supports all continuous quality improvement initiatives within the plant
  • PQE must work collaboratively with cross-functional manufacturing teams andfacilitatesconsensus and drive action from the main stakeholders
  • Support external quality Key Performance Indicators (KPI) management for achieving targets, driving improvement/corrective actions and escalation
  • Review warranty/Customer Quality Insight (CQI) claims daily,maintainissue stratification andmaintaintheportionof Warranty Wall responsible for their area
  • Lead improvement activities in vehicle quality by addressing nonconformity to product quality targets (SCA, VLO, BSR, and TDF performance driven to assigned targets)
  • Support Corporate Quality objectives/deliverables and communicate requirements to all groups involved to ensure goals are achieved
  • Collaborate and lead internal and external resourcestoachieve project/program timing
  • Lead teams toidentifyissues/risks associated with product designs,processesand applications by utilizing FMEA’s and other risk assessment tools

This position is for an existing vacancy.

The salary for this position is $75,000 to $95,000 per year.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in the fields of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an accredited university (other Engineering degrees, in combination with relevant experience may be considered)
  • Well versed in both Microsoft and Google applications
  • Ability to perform data analysistoidentifytop issues, summarize trends, distinctions, and effectiveness of corrective actions and continuous improvement activities
  • Effective presentation/public speaking skills (comfortablepresentingto all levels of the organization)
  • Experience with problem solving tools
  • Able todemonstrateboth coaching and teaching
  • Self-motivated and directed
  • Ability to thrive in a high intensity environment while working on multiple projects
  • A passion for spending time on the shop floor and fully understanding the build process from a 4M1D standpoint (man, method, machine, material, and design)
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree
  • Reactive Green Belt / Black Belt Certification
  • Previousexperience in resolving complexissues;including root cause, repairs, etc.
  • Previousexperience in Product Engineering and/ or Vehicle Integration / Development at supplier or Tier 1 Automotive Manufacturer
  • PreviousManufacturing and/or Quality experience within a vehicle/Component assembly plant
